COUNTRY OVERVIEW

Operations in Ethiopia launched in 2022 to reach clients in refugee camps and the surrounding host communities. The Ethiopia administrative office is located in Bole Medhanialem, Cameroon Street, behind Medhanialem Mall.

IMPACT

To date, Inkomoko has worked with more than 2,000 clients in Ethiopia. We have deployed more than US$ 300K in capital to clients, who have created more than 700 new jobs in Ethiopia.

INKOMOKO LOCATIONS

Commencing in 2022, Inkomoko’s current sites are:

  • Jigjiga – In the capital of the Somali region, Inkomoko provides training, advisory and market linkages services to both the host community and the Kebribeyah refugee camp. With a strong focus on female entrepreneurship, Inkomoko aims to serve 65% women clients.
  • Assosa – In Western Ethiopia, near the Sudanese border, Assosa provides business support within the Sherkole camp. Inkomoko is actively serving clients in this location, working to ensure financial inclusion and improved livelihoods.
  • Addis – Urban refugees face unique challenges as they do not receive any support from traditional aid. Inkomoko's support in Addis is key.
